Mission and Social Justice Statements
The Ebenezer Missionary Union (EMU) seeks to promote missions on the local, state, and national levels, rendering support to Ebenezer members and the surrounding and at-large communities through visitations, greeting cards, phone calls, personal witnessing, teaching, and other acts of service deemed necessary and appropriate.
Social Justice Statement
Recognizing that social justice must drive all that is done in the name of Christ and Christian ministry, the Ebenezer Missionary Union (EMU) aims to address needs that arise from personal and societal practices that imprison individuals in lives of low aims and hopelessness, keeping them from living full lives and exercising their full citizenship. In seeking to advance a socially just world in which believers and non-believers alike can live in holistic excellence and be equipped, therein, to serve others, giving them, too, the hope of a life beyond mediocrity, the service of the EMU is wide-ranging and falls into the following categories: (A) Service to Ebenezer (B) Local, National, and International missions, (C) Fundraising/Organization, (D) Ministry Affiliations.

History
The Ebenezer Missionary Union (EMU), previously known as the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), began in 1907 under the direction of Mrs. Jennie C. Williams, the grandmother of Dr. Christine King Farris. Mrs. Williams served as president from 1907 until her passing in 1941. In 2016, the WMU was renamed the Ebenezer Missionary Union (EMU) to more accurately reflect the fact that the brotherhood of Ebenezer have always been involved in the work of the mission ministry.
